Here ye here ye, the cat gods have given us a new category. There is now a cosplay category in photography you can read all about it here in ^Myana's journal.
There has been some recent changes in the Photography gallery, cosplay photos now have a real home! Photography -> People & Portraits -> Cosplay


Artisan Crafts > Textile > Costume is the gallery for handmade costumes (i.e historical, cosplay and original designs) that you made yourself. The focus is on your crafting - and to show that in the photos submitted. The costume must be visible in the photo.


Photography -> People & Portraits -> Cosplay is the gallery for the professional cosplay photographers to post their photos. It's the gallery for submitting photos of strangers at a con, you or a friend in a bought costume as well as portrait/close-ups or where you are acting out scenes and are blocking the costume in the pose or camera angle.

Lets start with the lovely new v6 I was presented with yesterday, I didn't have a great deal of time to play because I was off to work in the afternoon but I do love it. It's a really fantastic update, don't like it? Give yourself a few days first I adapted to the changes in the interface really quickly and one you are used to it, it is a vast improvement on v5.
not only that there's some wonderful changes to the loading speed and the amount of bandwidth taken up, I did a simple test on this, Stewart was playing CoD4 and back in v5 loading something as simple as my page views would send his game into a spasm, now so long as I only load one page at a time, that's image heavy I can do whatever I want when he's playing I loaded a whole gallery view, which normally would take a while even if he wasn't doing anything and boom it was there right infront of me and I didn't have him turn round saying 'oh your on dA again .'

As for work, things are going great I did my first birthday party yesterday and boy was that tiring 2 hours with 10 4 year olds, playing, shouting and generally wearing me out. But it was great fun, and one of the children is coming back for her party next week, she smiled when she found out I would be there to do her party as well.

So, in my recent poll I asked you if it would be a good idea to have a club/directory type thing that listed detailed gallery descriptions in order to help deviants make miscat reports, place deviation etc...
Well it seems like it is a vaguely good idea (no-one said no.) So I will be going ahead with it. I just have one small problem, and that's the name for the account.
I had thought of something like FAQ-category though =Moon-Q suggested Miss-Catty you'll have to let me know what you think cause I like both names.
Also if you know your cats and have any input for this project (detailed gallery descriptions or common catting mistakes, or anything else that you may think helpful) please drop me a note with some sort of 'cat project' type title so I can organise easily and I shall get the ball rolling on what I hope will turn into a very useful project.

I'm also really excited, tomorrow is my first day at work. While there's 2 birthday parties to do I'm still really happy about it all. I guess we shall see what I say tomorrow xD.

I have been in one of those moods recently where I haven't felt like doing a great deal. I'll have to get into 'the zone' again and have a major session, uploading my backlog going on a spree around the galleries and making some more stuff.

As most of you have already noticed, comments are disappearing from the site. No, it's not a deviantART issue, it's a deviants issue. It seems like people are enjoying the new favourite feature too much and they've completely forgoten about comments. Don't get me wrong, I think that Collections is a really awesome feature, but to me, and from what I've heard around from a lot of other people, a favourite without a comment means absolutely nothing.

Talk about everything happening at once, after a while of coaxing the Uniq-Harajuku website is finally under construction. Shouldn't be long now until there is a fully working website.
So with everything going on I have been quite busy, (I haven't had time to make a great deal but there is some stuff coming soon.)

A little back story, every week I take my son to a local soft play centre he loves it and I love it. A few weeks ago I applied for a job there and today while I was playing the assistant manager came through and gave me an interview and then the job there and then I start next Saturday

Also I am now a co-admin for ~Crafty-Goodness. Its a great little club and if you love crafts go pop in browse the members gallery.

Still featuring my winners from the dare to be different contest, I'll be posting the winners news either later today or tomorrow, I had a busy few days so not got round to that yet. Also now featuring the winning entries from ~Crafty-Goodness's Punk Crafts contest.

Ok it didn't take as long as I anticipated to judge the contest (Thanks to my judges for making it a smooth process.)
So I am please to announce the winners of my Dare to be Different contest.

I'm getting a little bored with the basic strung jewellery, and after I tried to get a hold of step by step beads so I could see ~green-envy-designs's article in it I ended up with the wrong magazine at first I was a little annoyed that the comag importers labelled this one as step by step beads though after reading it it's filled me with insperation.
What I really got was step by step WIRE jewellery something I have always admired it looks fantastic and now I am going to give it a go.

I'm also probably going to end up making more emoticons, or at least little fella's I was so happy with the way my bracelet turned out. I want to do more
